Ah, I'm not too knowledgable with archtop hollow body jazz boxes, but a quick search came up with this which states about $1500-$2500 approx. If you'd care to wait til morning, the Doctor shall see you then.

Never played one, but these folks have

It's a discontinued model so your only chance of getting one is second hand, Feylya's in the right price bracket. It's expensive but it is top quality. Have you got your eye on one?

If it's too pricey, alternatives would be the Aria FA Series, the Washburn J6 and the Ibanez Atrcore AF75, any of which you should be able to pick up for under a grand new.

i saw one up in dundalk for 3500€ its got the body of a porn star and sounds like a dawn chorus in spring but a tad overpriced maybe .i have a guild sg300 at the moment which is great, but i wanted a jazz guitar maybe i am listening to george benson and wes montgomery to much.cheers for the help

Where abouts in Dundalk did you see it? The guitar shops up here haven't a clue about guitar prices and ALWAYS over charge.

is he open to negotiation do you reckon ?

I'd say Conor is but not much. I doubt you'd get to €3000 tbh. Start of below €3000 and work your way up. Apparently, he knows well what he's talking about.

its a lot of bread alright why are instruments so much more expensive here than in the states, i mean if its goin for €1700 in the us and its €3500 here you kinda feel like your being ripped offf just by askin the price .its still brand new even though its been discontinued .ah well so much for the power of the jayzus euro.:(

Rip off Irish shops, import prices, rarity of the item in this country. All adds up to stupidly expensive guitars.

If you really want to get one have a look at the Aria and the Ibanez. There are some truly fantastic guitars coming out of Japan at them moment and they don't have the extra 50% markup a 'Made In USA' sticker usually costs, so they're priced at a sane level... even over here.

Personally, I've always had something against Arias, the electrics at least. Every Aria I've played or worked on has been made of plywood!!!!! Didn't exactly impress me. The acoustics are decent enough though.

You buy €160 guitars, you should be happy they're not made of cardboard ;) What are you doing up at this hour anyway?

Arias are decent, very decent when you move up the range. The FA series are very decent indeed.

    I have never bought a €160 guitar!! Only £100 and a $250 one :D

Dunno what I'm doing up. I'm in college too, away from my guitars :(
