Initialising FTV card

I recently purchased a FTV card from "free2view",which enables me to receive "Anglia ITV" (I'm an Ex-Pat) so out of the kindnest of my heart, i gave my working BBC P2 (South-West ITV) card to a friend(EX Pat).
Strange to report that the BBC P2 card worked perfectly on my system when swapping the english card with the the irish but since giving it to the mate the following happens on his "Grundig" box:

* Remove the irish card and wait for the insert card message
*Card is placed in, then get a message Initialising card
*Channels do not come through, so he has to go to menu for all channels and bring them through via the EPG
*When he recieves the selected channel the rest then show on the EPG

Any one else experiencing the same problem

I have a P2 (solus BBC) card but regardless of what I do (incl forced downloads) I cant get UTV Channel 4 or 5 on the EPG

sure I can get it on the add channels/other channels proedure but It would be nice to have them on the EPG as well

I also find If I put too many channels in the "other channels list" (I use my system for Hotbird as well as Astra 2) channels go missing from the EPG

Also If I reset the EPG I loose the other channels list. To get it I have to reset the box again and go into the other channels list before the EPG listings reload

These bugs can do your head in (Its a Panasonic Digibox BTW)

Sounds like it's not authorised to me... At least that would be the main reason they're not showing up in the EPG.

P2s which were ordered over the phone need to be activated (by calling again) and confirming your "UK" details.

P2s which were ordered online as replacements for old P1s do NOT need to be activated. These activate immediately once place in the box (any box) and are no longer married to the box (so they can be used in any box to receive ITV, C4 and C5.)

Thats what I thought but who exactly do I ring ?
Im only guessing here but id imagine
1) If I call $ky theyll tell me to go away since im not a $ky subscriber
2) If I call BBC theyll tell me to go away since they dont support Solus cards anymore
3) If I call Free 2 View theyll tell me to go away since I havent paid £23.50 for one of their cards

I suspect Im stuck in a bit of a limbo situation on this one

I tried auto activation (plugging box into phone and doing a setup via the installers menu) but it made no difference

Unfortunately Mike you have no hope of getting your card activated because it is a BBC P2 card,so you will just have to put up with watching ITV etc. via other channels:(
