(I wanted to post this question to the web-hosting forum, but it’s closed, so maybe someone here has come across this same problem and could answer my questions?)

On their website, company A have a link to company B. Company B does not want company A doing this and have asked for it to be removed. Company A carry on ignoring the request.

    - Is there any point in contacting company A’s web hosting provider and making a complaint?
    - Do company B have any leg to stand on in demanding that the link is removed?

    Thanks in advance.

Depends on the hosting provider. Worth a try.

Not really. There's no precedent in Ireland.

What webserver are you running? It's easy to redirect the link back to them, or print a message to the user telling them that it's an unauthorised link (or whatever you want) based on HTTP_REFERER.
