Anyone out there seen Ichi the killer? Very cool. If you love blood and guts I recommend it. It real comedy gore and far fetched sorta stuff! Really well made by Takeshi Miike, Genius maker of Auditon

I was very let down by it. Don't get me wrong, it was alright... I enjoyed it... And there were moments when it was excellent... But it wasn't great.

It gets over hyped, which doesn't help but it's a good film.
I love when Kakihara cuts off his tongue and then his mobile rings. Genius.

It WAS too over-hyped alright (I bought the uncut 2-disc dutch import before it was released over here), I still enjoyed it as it was so over-the-top violent but some of the special fx and make-up were not the best and it just seemed like violence for the sake of violence at times.

Personally, I loved Ichi The Killer, easily one of the best films I've seen in 2003! But it's definetly not for everyone, and I think it's either a love-it-or-hate-it affair.

I neither loved it or hated it. It's the kind of film I usually like... It just didn't seem very complete. Even if I didn't know the volume of work that Miike does each year, I would have thought it to be rushed. When it shon, it was excellent, but too much of it just wasn't complete enough for me.

I found it to be quite complete myself, any examples to what you're reffering to?
