are they sold out? says tickets are "unavailiable" here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,592 ✭✭✭Ro: maaan!

I'm sure there'll be an extra date added...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,601 ✭✭✭Kali

Very doubtful they're sold out.. most likely running off a new batch of tickets for the new venue, or similar issue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,585 ✭✭✭honru

Wow. It must have or nearly sold out the Village date. I doubt the Ambassador show is the same way though, but rest assured I'll be getting my ticket soon.

Also, extra dates can't be added as the Dublin gig is wedged in between two UK dates...

I'd love to go but none of my friends are into the kinda music I am.
Missed out on Simple Kid and I Am Kloot for the same reason.
2 of 'em kinda are but one is still under 18 and the other is permanently broke so that leaves me with no-one :-(

    they're back on sale

XCRichard - go on your own, I started going on my own last year when I was in the same situation and I didn't regret it.... go on you know you want to...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,221 ✭✭✭RichyX

Hmm, just remembered I missed out on Feeder too due to none of my friends be interested. Would be too sure about myself alone above in the big smoke. I'd be a prime target for your famed arse rapists no doubt!

bless, you sound have the same taste in music as me and you have the same type of friends as me.

It is hard but you can't keep regretting all the cool gigs you could have seen. If you go to these gigs on your own you won't you might even meet people at them...

Got to agree with Bovril: F**k your friends, don't miss cool gigs

Was talking to a few of my friends over the weekend and they said they'd go!
I thought it was on the Saturday night though, so that could be a bit of a problem.
Gonna go up to Ticketbastard later and get 2 tickets for a start, need to make sure the others will go yet.

Yup, don't let your friends questionable music tastes screw you over.

I saw Franz Ferdinand last August and they were great live. This time round you will benefit from better atmosphere, and at €15, you can't go wrong (luckily MCD are now unable to charge the price that they would usually ask for at an Ambassador gig).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,496 ✭✭✭quarryman

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,221 ✭✭✭RichyX

Yup, went to ticketmaster today and they're sold out :-(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,601 ✭✭✭Kali

    booo anyway.. ahh well.

It appears as though I just got the last ticket. Went to Ticketmaster and it said on sale. So I put in 2 for best available. But said couldn't perform action or whatever. Then tried it with 1 and got it. Wahoo! It's level 2 seating, but still...

Well, i arrived home from leeds on tuesday. the nme awards show concert was on monday, which was class, although funeral for a friend were kinda dodgy, just not my thing i suppose, great atmosphere though for them. Frans Ferdinand were great! bit strokesy i thought but still good. the Von bondies were excellent, the reason why i went over really, i was well impressed. the rapture were surprisingly great. more of a dance act though. the best parts to come. get this, my sister met the lead singer from frans ferdinand during the Von Bondies, got an autograph and photos and two AFTERSHOW PARTY tickets !!!!!!!! yes sweet i no, got to meet the von bondies, had a chat bout everything(even jack white!!!! he had nothing bad to say though, he was too clever, he really hate him though i bet ) , got photos, got autographs. and met half of frans ferdinand, they are mad bastards, excellent. Frans are a must see.

I got my ticket yesterday in City Discs; seemed like the only place that had them (didn't try Road Records though).
They have probably sold out their allotment by today, so it's probable that there is no more tickets left. Fairly impressive for a band who don't even have an album out (although it's released tommorrow :)); tickets were onsale for just a week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,221 ✭✭✭RichyX

Suppose there's no chance they'll change to another larger venue is there? :dunno:
The Village was a tiny place to hold it but I've never been to the Ambassador so I've no idea how big it is.
    Olympia anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,585 ✭✭✭honru

Olympia and Ambassador hold more or less the same capacity. Other than that there is The Point, which is too big :dunno:.

I'll go with my senses on this one and say that it is very likely that they will return to play the Witnness festival.
