Alicia Silverstone's new show 'Miss Match' is starting on Living Wednesday February 11th @ 10pm.

Alicia Silverstone stars as Kate Fox in this charming drama from Emmy-Award winning executive producer Darren Star. In addition to being a sharp divorce attorney in her father's law firm, Kate Fox has a knack for matchmaking, which she considers a hobby until a socialite bride credits Kate for her romantic success in the press and word of her talent spreads. Soon, to the dismay of her father, and her reluctant legal partner Nick. Kate is juggling the conflicting worlds of divorce and true love.

Sounds very Ally McBeal-ish, but Alicia is likeable enough to give it a look.
Net2 have also bought the rights to the show, but the viewers go to whoever starts first :D

It'll be good to see Alicia again, it's been too long. She's up for lead in a comedy series @ The Golden Globes this w/e for 'Miss Match', hope she wins!

Also re: 'Sex & The City', TV3 are starting the final few episodes a day earlier than C4, next Thursday January 29th @ 10pm.

If she wins an award it might improve the chances of the show getting a second series, at the moment it is looking likely for cancellation. NBC have shelved it for several months with a handful of episodes unaired.

NBC keep saying it's coming back for another go this spring. Hope for her sake it does, either way, we'll get to see 17 episodes of Alicia, which ain't too bad in itself :D

Network Two started showing this last Friday night as well. I must say I enjoyed the first episode. It has still not been officially cancelled but this will almost certainly happen when the new season's schedule's are announced in the States next month. Also the fact that Living TV have started showing episodes that have never aired in the states is never a good sign!

One big name doesn't make a decent show at all, i watched first six, seven, it gets worse each week and finally i give ita miss, much better stuff to watch on TV than this.

Thats just my thoughts on the subject!

Like donhughberto I watched it and then didn't watch it. Set it for autoview and repeat when it was first on, then I started flicking to other things on a Wednesday instead. After about three weeks I hit cancel when I saw the little reminder come up and I haven't seen it since. I doubt I've missed anything interesting.

Is this show not just an all grown up version of Emma (Sorry I mean Clueless)

    Like Eh Hello! :D

The first episode reminded me of Ally McBeal.

Living will start airing episodes ahead of NBC as of tonight @ 10pm, as Go Figure mentioned.

I've watched all 11 eps Living have aired so far, and I really like the show. It's entertaining & Alicia is very good in the lead role. I don't think I'd enjoy the show much at all if Alicia wasn't in it. She brings something extra to the role, that would be absent if someone like Calista Flockhart were playing Kate. The part is very different to Ally McBeal too, the naval-gazing is at a minimum for most of the show thankfully ;)
All in all, the show doesn't try and be anything other than a romantic comedy, and there's a good few episodes that don't feature a court case at all.
There's a nice love triangle set up now, I'm looking forward to seeing how it pans out :)

As for cancellation, two of the main cast have signed on for other series, and even though Miss Match is still technically 'in production', NBC said it would appear again in April. It's April 28 now and no announcement so far. It'll prob get cancelled & NBC might burn off the remaining episodes during the summer. Oh well, nice while it lasted. Hope Alicia isn't off our screens for too long!

It might get another season but ......

Law And Order: Trail By Jury is coming

And all because CBS like CSI

    CSI:New York

So its 3 to CSI and 4 to Law And Order (CSI might have 4 shows)

The Practice spin off is that happening?

Anyway we will find out in May what the Fall season looks like over in the states.

I don't think it's really seen as a court drama to be honest. As I mentioned before, it features court cases far less than romantic entanglements. The main issue is the less-than-stellar ratings the initial run got on NBC.

Lake Bell who plays Victoria in 'Miss Match' is signed on for 'The Practice' spin-off. She'll be appearing towards the end of 'The Practice' to introduce the character. Ironically she's one of the non-lawyers in 'Miss Match'.

Sorry I didn't mean to imply that.

It is just the amount of crime drama coming from the states in the form of spin offs.

CNN has a good article on it http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/TV/04/27/apontv.thefranchises.ap/index.html

Just watched the latest episode tonight 'Miss Communication'. It was funny, and entertaining-- just what I expect from 'Miss Match'. Kate got drunk hee, it was good :D

    The love quadrangle is interesting....
just when you think Lauren is outta the picture...! The Nick & Vic relationship is funny too

All in all, a solid, funny episode :)

I caught an episode last week - wan't brilliant but the guest star was Charisma Carpenter so it was worth sticking with!!

Charisma Carpenter has been in 2 episodes so far, with another few filmed.
I think she's perfect for the Serena Lockner part-- total bimbo bitch with a good heart buried underneath. A nice return to the days when Cordelia was interesting waaaay back in Buffy.
