Icecream at night in January = drugs?

The last ten days or so there's a bloody ice cream van going around my area, playing 'Match of the Day' as his tune. Now, I'm basically of the opinion that anyone in an icecream van at 8.30 on a pitch black Friday night in January is selling drugs along with the 'icecream'.

Why don't the cops bust this guy? Won't someone think of the children? etc. etc.

    I agree with you.

There is one in my area that comes around everynight even during winter. I don't see kids going to him but teenagers.

All he is sort of is a sign saying "Mind that Junkie"

Why not go up and ask for an ice cream?

no ... my local ice-cream man/woman *I never actually checked which gender* .. plays the most F*ck*d up tunes ... my memory is shot .. . but he plays this American western cowboy shoot him up in the summer ... do del loo da loo .. do loooo doooo ... ya know the one. ... :D where they are bout to shoot each other... John Wayne and what not...

but during the winter he/she plays and even weirder one.. again I can't remember it ...
I blame the drugs... but I don't get them off the ice-cream person

:D So yer theory is flawed ... I'd say the tunes and timing are a product as opposed to the cause.

There was a instance of that before.
A icecream van would drive around and people would order that icecream in the spiral shaped plastic cone with the "chewing gum" in the bottom.

It worked but i think the cops got that guy that was a good few years ago now.

I've already had two icepops today..... very hard things to come by during winter in England. They seem to get rid of them all.

    Sandy,

I live in the Ballymun area and i am sure drugs are being sold from it. It annoys the **** outta me especially when i'm writing a big program and hear that stupid jingle, puts my concentration off.

Here's an idea: Why don't you all quit yapping about it on the internet, and tell the police?
If anything, this ice cream guy is breaking noise pollution laws, you're not allowed to sound horns/sirens (unless you're an emergency vehicle, of course) in a built up area after a certain time...probably 8 or 9pm iirc.

TBH, I couldn't imagine the Garda doing much, you know with all the unsolved murders.

    I could imagine it

"So Mr. ***** you think the ice-cream van is selling drugs because its drinking around at 11 O'clock at night"

"Ermm... there always is junkies buying stuff that doesn't look like ice-cream from it"

"Mr **** have you any proof that these people are drug abusers"

    "They're strung out"

"Okay Mr ***** leave it with us and we'll see if anything is going on"

eth0_ here's an idea get of your high horse and stop being so offensive with every post. Things aren't always black and white.

Do you mean the chimes from Indio's pocket watch in For a Few Dollars More with Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef? Indio uses the ending of the chimes to mark the beginning of a gunfight.

Shut your hole, you, stop going off on a stupid tangent and READ WHAT I SAID!
Here's a hint: I said the ice cream van man can be done for noise pollution.

I always eat ice-cream at night. It stops me getting hangovers.

I do think the ice-cream van in Winter is a tad odd though. I'd more likely think he is a paedo than a dealer.

yea there's an ice cream van that runs around the estates in blanch at around 9ish at night that plays match of the day jingle. so i wonder then following this kind of logic does this mean that in the summer time you'll have the dealers driving around in vans selling hot water bottle's full of booze and drugs?

not really sure why anyone hasnt reported in i dont live in dublin anymore but if it were me i would i wouldnt want my kids running around buying dodgy ice cream from a van at 10pm at night,

i only skimmmed through most of this thread so im not sure has this been asked or not but has anyone actually gone over to these sus ice cream vans and actually try buying an ice cream?
