I recently put my number in this and it says it's not available..but i also put my next door neighbours number in and it says its available to them, can this happen? I would of thought all the phones in the area would be run off the same lines/exchange

No. It's reporting what's in the database. That's not to say that you can't improve your situation, but you'll have to read the threads to find out how and why. (We're busy too, you know).

firstly good luck to you with trying to get it sorted. I'm sure if you stick to it for months and months you'll eventually get BB. read the other threads you'll see. But then also maybe not. I recomend finding an engineer and asking them very very nicely about doing an onsite test on your line. If you get someone very nice I'm told they'll be able to track down the exact problem with your line. Eircom dont give out those details for legal reasons. Failing that requesting ALL information eircom have on you under the Data Protection Act could get you that information.
