Product paranoia

I'm reminded by another thread of my paranoia with certain health products...

1)Clearasil: Whenever I used to use it, I'd come out with a lot more spots/blackheads the next day.
2)Lynx: I'm convinced it made me sweat more than I would've without it. As a matter of fact, compared to any other deo, it did.
3)Gilette shaving cream: Made the new blade of the Mach 3 blunt within a week. The first blade I used only with soap, and it was fine for months.

Am I just being paranoid or has anyone else noticed the fact that these products work in such a way as to make you feel the need to buy a lot more :dunno:

    It is what it's.

Yeah - shampoo etc comes in tiny bottles that run out really fast. Would be better to buy huge tubs of it at a discount price as you need it regularly anyway.

    In particular, Durex.

They ALWAYS break when I use them. I don't know how I don't have every STI.

Although I am riddled with ass crabs.

Eh... I thought deodarant was just a smell.
While anti-perspirant actually prevents sweating?? Anyone verify?

Think that s cause it pushes all the crap on your face up, thus causing spots!!!

    Lynx sucks!!!!

Dunno, I like to rub midgets under my armpits of a morning before heading off to work. Tickles a bit, but lasts for HOURS!

    :D

I think Lynx is more of a body spray, masking the sweaty smells..

I detest lynx simply because for 5 mins after you spray it, no matter how small the amount you spray, the air in the room is unbreathable, you have to leave or you start tasting it on every breath. Also, the smells are rank. Physio sport anti perspirant would be my choice tbh.

As for spots, I never worried about them, I had them, and still do, but I could have cared less when I was younger, and they're clearing up grand on there own now.

Yep, apparently there's something in it that tricks you into feeling full.

    It is what it's.

I thought the difference between deoderants and antiperspirants was that the deoderants mask the smell, while an antiperspirant actually tries to stop you sweating.

Always thought lynx was just a deoderant...

    As for McDonalds: http://www.nypost.com/entertainment/16393.htm
LAST February, Morgan Spurlock decided to become a gastronomical guinea pig.

His mission: To eat three meals a day for 30 days at McDonald's and document the impact on his health.

Probably MSG or Nucleotides - digestion products - your stomach is fooled into thinking that it is already digesting a nutitious meal. It's a bit like the differance between flour and sugar. (bad explaination - but too lazy to rephrase )

Lynx is available as an anti perspirant now too. I agree that Physio Sport is quite good.
