    Govt reports 21.4% increase in house completions

    The Government has reported a 21.4% increase in the number of houses built in the third quarter of last year compared to the same period in 2002.

    The latest housing statistics bulletin published by the Department of the Environment said more than 18,000 houses were completed in July, August and September last year.

    The bulletin also highlighted a 28% increase in mortgage lending during the quarter compared to the same period in 2002.
