Anyone see the Luke Kelly wanna-be getting stage fright live on RTE at the end of Eurostar this evening?

It was one of those cringe-worthy moments that will be repeated on compilation programmes for years....

Indeed. Felt quite sorry for him. What on earth was Nell McCafferty doing there?

I thought he did quite well in fairness to him. He sang really well once he got over the nerves

Yeah and it does take a lot to start over and sing after getting off to a poor start. He seemed quite shaken afterwards, but then who wouldn't.

used to go to school with the guy, never really liked him. but hes an excellent singer, i hope he wins.

if not him i think we should get someone with the same irish style and not any pop crap. appernetly even if he doesnt win, phil coulter has offered him a record deal anyway.

The first time he stopped, was there not a problem with getting the key of the piano? I thought only the second time he faltered a little was actual nerves. In fairness, althought I already said on the 'You're A Star' thread that the ppl on this season aren't as good as last year (mebbe they'll improve in time), George was definitely the best of the lot tonight!

She was awful, she had no valid opinions, and the way she treated the guy who came last was appauling. She complained that people weren't sing in thier own accents, well frankly all bogger country accents are shi*e especially her twisted Derry accent, i used to find her political views humorous and occasionally valid, but after her performance last night i have seen the light and recognise her for the ignorant opinionated cow she really is:mad:

I caught her rant - who is that dozy bint? I don't know my Irish "stars" at all....

my housemate informed me that she use to write for Hotpress so that's whay she was invited on (apparently she didn't know squat about music then either!). She's known from her appearences on Q&A, the Late Late, etc. where she gives her opinion on political matters and really knows how to insult politicians, but she should keep her bile for them!

As for George he really has a great voice, i couldn't tell from his Sean nos performance on the selections, but last night he was great. I blame the pianist for what happened, he kept playing over the contestants and ruined most of their songs.

I dont know if anyone else noticed last night but apart from George all the other singers had 90 seconds to do their song but George was given 3 minutes for his.

My mates auntie was at the rehersals yesterday (her nephew was singing last night) and she said that George was also given most of the rehersal time.
