    Is there such thing of a background registry moniter, eg I can watch whats being changed and when it is being changed (to see whats done with certain apps during installation).........

    If you're using win9x, you can use Norton RegistryTracker from Norton Utilities... much better than regmon... but then again.. won't work for NT/2K/XP.

    seconded, for real-time monitoring.

    Although, try www.iolo.com 's System Mechanic. It has a setup watcher which will take note of added and changed files and reg entries :)

    coolies, trying to find where a certain app was droping reg entries, the regmon thing done it, cheers again................
