I've already talked to Kharn and offered my commiserations. Still plenty of people looking for good enthusiastic workers and you have to hand Kharn an A+ in enthusiasm!

I was most disappointed with downsizing, I had expected something much more exciting, and possibly the opportunity to steal nice hardware from the office. Instead we got the MD telling the content staff about the market reasons why there was no longer a job for any of us - "We hadn't counted on revenues from advertising being so poor", dear gods. Any of the grassroots staff in the company could tell these people that advertising wasn't a viable way to make money, and yet the idiots on 50k a year with company cars can't work it out... A pattern repeated everywhere in the industry.

Bookmark f*ckedcompany.com folks, if you think the .com industry is up in a heap now, you ain't seen NOTHING yet. Biz school graduates at the top of the pile with no comprehension of the technology or sociology of the Internet, the people with the real ideas down at grassroots with no voice. We're in for a very, very bumpy ride for the online world over the next year or so...
