Ummm .... I was aware that Peter Jackson was thinkin of makin the hobbit, but I didn't realise he had made a trailer for it already?!

I'm jus after findin one, shows Bilbo battling against the dragon n everythin ....

Did everyone else know this was out or was I the only one in the dark?

Noooooo, it wasn't the animated one.

The guy whoever did it, had taken snips from The Fellowship maybe, but had also added in a dragon as well, and it appeared Bilbo (as in the same actor who played him in LOTR) was fighting him. Pretty well done actually, had me wonderin for a sec if it actually was an official trailer

Could be a long while before we see the Hobbit, even though Jackson is interested in making it. Christopher Tolkien (J.R.R's son) absolutely refuses to sell the rights to it. Which is such a stupid thing to do:mad:

Apparently the rights are owned by sets of people!!

Jackson is definitely interested in making it though!! Did anyone here that New Line wanted to make The Hobbit into a series of films as well, adding more adventures etc???

I hate to be the geek here but Ive actually seen the trailer and i hate to say it but it looks like a fake!

tinkerbell is however corret however they are making "the hobbit" movie and i cant wait for it to be released, i saw that trailer over 3 months ago a long long time before ROTK was even released. and i fail to see how they suddenly made the whole movie before the LOTR's was even finished if they had made the hobbit it would be all over the interent

(unless this is a new trialer in which case im a big fool)

the trailer i saw was a fake as it was just snippets taken from the first two films of LOTR's and of tom cruises film ledgend made in the 80's and possibly some scenes from reign of fire.

of course I've know to be wrong from time to time.

Yeah that's where I'd thought the dragon scenes came from - Reign of Fire - although it still looks pretty cool Pity though that tiz jus a fake, boohoo

but then i played it a few times and saw a young tom crusies ugly mug and coped it was a fake. still cant wait for the real trailer

It occured to me last night that I had actually never seen the trailer for The Fellowship of the Ring! Twas quite the cool trailer too!

Well we don't know if they have permission to make it yet or not!! Ian McKellan said last week that both New Line and Peter Jackson were very interested in making 'The Hobbit' but that the rights were owned by 2 parties so that has to be resolved (if it can be)!!

Well at the minute theres loads of legalities to be worked out as new line actually owns the movie rights and another company owns the distribution rights. That is as far as i know what is holding them up at the minute but hopefully they'll come to some sort of arrangement.

But Peter Jackson is also now off to do king Kong so the hobbit would have to wait until after that anyhoo.
