I wonder what he's thinking right now. I'd say he's sh*ting himself, but he's telling the guard that he's used to the idea now and is ready to die, but he can still feel a bit nervous and has butterflys in his belly.

Imagine knowing you've about 2 hours left to live, I'd be nervous, and I can't think why.

Why has the column entitled race got the colour of their skin underneath it? Skin colour doesn't donate a race differance, just a skin colour differance, they're still human (or something close to it considering what some of them did).

It doesn't have anything about skin colour regarding Hispanic Americans. It just say's Hispanic Americans (I think!) but not skin colour. I'm sure if the victims where Asian, it would say Asian. If they were European, it'd say White, Afican it says black.
Theres no need to go overboard on the whole PC sh*te. I'm not offended when called a white, why should Africans be offended when called black?

The reason it tells you of their race is probably something got to do with a ethnic minority case which demanded it so people could see if black on white crime was more punishable than white on black crime. I dunno.

Nah, not trying to be pc about it or anything, its just, when I saw race, I was expecting human, wookie, human, human, hutt, human, klingon, that kinda thing under it.

Its more the technicality of it that bugs me. I can live with it, it just seems a bit....weird to me I suppose. Meh, nevermind.

:rolleyes: i don't think thats the fault of the people who made the list. although i did wonder why race was there myself...its either there as an unimportant detail,
to counter people making claims about higher amounts of non-whites being executed
or to encourage people making claims about higher amounts of non-whites being criminals.

a few really evil seeming ones there...its strangely addictive: reading their last statement then comparing it to their crime and trying to think if they sound genuine/if i think they deserve it.

then i look at the picture and decide if they look like they did it? probably not right....:dunno:

Death row menus left bad taste

HOUSTON, Texas (Reuters) -- The final meals of executed prisoners are off the menu on the Texas prison system's Internet site.

Texas, which far and away leads all U.S. states in executions since a national death penalty ban was lifted in 1976, has long listed details of the meals on the prison system's Web site, www.tdcj.state.tx.us.

But Michelle Lyons, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, said they were removed last week during a redesign of the site.

"We had some complaints from people in both the U.S. and abroad that it might be in poor taste to distribute that information on the Web site," she said.

The information about last meals will still be made available to reporters covering executions.

The meals, which in Texas have to be made with what is available in the prison, range from the simple to the extravagant.

Briton John "Jackie" Elliott requested a cup of tea and chocolate chip cookies before his February 4 execution.

Also in February, Richard Head Williams asked for two chili cheese dogs, two cheeseburgers, two orders of onion rings with French dressing, a turkey salad with fries, egg rolls, chocolate cake, apple pie, butter pecan ice cream, one peach, three Dr. Pepper sodas, jalapenos, Ketchup and mayonnaise.
