youll have to trust me on this one.

a few weeks ago i got a new pair of runners in liffey valley shopping centre.
the shop people left the security tags on.
id like to be able to wear the runners as my orther ones are falling apart.
im in limerick atm and wont be home for a fortnight at least (and home is near drogheda)
so, how do i get the tag off- its a big round one around the laces on one of the runners.

Test the magnet by bringing it into a video shop first ;)

A strong magnet will more than likely do the job.

Yeah, The thing they use in shops is actually just a circular strong magnet. Get the outside of the tag, and bang it straight down onto the centre of the magnet, and it should come off. Try it a few times, cos it mightn't work the first time.

That happened me as well, I bought a jacket and went home, went for going out that night, put on the jacket, and low and behold, a massive security tag still stuck to the damn thing!!

So my dad went to investigate, turns out it was one of those tags that if you break 'em, they explode with red ink which doesn't come off. I think in the end, my dad used a magnet to tear the hoor off the jacket, because there was no way we were travelling all the way back to the shop when it was over 50 miles away!

What is with some shop assistant people, REMOVE THE TAG PLEASE!!!!

Go into a shop in your own area, preferably the same chain, and if you have the reciept they'll take the tag off for you, no probs. That kind of thing happens pretty often.
