Hmm probably be headin along to this alright.. while i don't particularly like their latest album (Echoes).. although it has its moments, I've a funny feeling they could well be a bloody great live act..

Yeah, they were brilliant at Witnness and if they're as good again, as Radio 4 were at Whelans, I'll shall be very happy indeed!

For the fact fans: The Rapture used to work in The Plant Bar in New York and run their own Tranmission club night there. The Plant Bar and Plant Records are run by two Dublin blokes (Dom Keegan and Marcus Lambkin).

Dom also put out and mixed that Sound of Young New York compilation that came out a few months ago and featured tracks from The Rapture, Radio 4, DFA, LCD Soundsystem etc. It's worth pickin' up.

    Anyway... full info at

    - I got tickets for this. The album is a bit Robert-Smith-on-yokes mental in parts but I reckon it'll come off good live.

The Rapture are gonna be DJing after as well!

Btw just to be safe bring ID if you think there may be any chance of you being asked or have been before. The Village door policy is Over 18s, Garda Approved ID (driver's licence, passport, or Garda age card) required.

Ken's quick review: Goddamn they put one hella good live show, really enjoyable, I never really rated their album (Echoes) that highly and the majority of places that voted it the best album of the year ever ever ever (*cough* pitchfork) had mainly done so because they had seen them live previously... and now I see why, loads of energy, loads of screaming loads of crowd interaction for once and bloody damn catchy tunes:
sister saviour, coming of spring and house of jealous lovers all worked the crowd into a headbopping frenzy .. slower tracks like i need your love, open up your heart and infatuation came alive as well (they're next to lethargic on the record)... so ehh well worth the visit anyway. go crapture!

Dammit, had to work late and missed it :(

I remember being shocked at Witnness at how good the lead singers voice was.
