    hey got a wee problem.

I have two hard drives on my computer.

Orginall i had a 3gb one which has windows installed on it. But then i got a new 20gb one cos the 3gb one was full. So i moved some stuff to the 20gb and added more since. But now i want to sell my 3gb hard-drive and i was wondering first of all,

    1. How do i make partitions on the 20gb hard-drive with out losing the files already on it.

    2. Should i install windows from new, onto one of the partitions or is it possible to move everything that is on the 3gbdrive to the 20gb dsrive partition and make that partition bootable. (if ya get me!)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure if you'll get value for money for a second-hand 3GB drive.

Most (stressing the most part) PCs can take 1-2 drives extra on top of the CD drive, Hard Drive and Floppy Drive.

If I remember correctly the is an option in Explorer, for Windows to safely partition existing drives. Just can't find it at the moment, I suspect newer versions do it differently. It's quite simple. Try looking under Windows Help for 'Partition'.

If you don't know how to do this stuff, I suggest that you get help installing the new drive, In particular, make sure you are earthed against static electricity and that the machine is off and plugged out before you take off the cover.

Use fips to non destructively partition drives (available from any linux site or cd) and use fdisk to destructively partition disks.
