    Folks,

Does anyone know of any camera insurance specialists operating in Ireland ? I know equipment can be added to house contents insurance but I am interested in a separate policy. It's common enough in the UK, but a google search didn't find much here.

Ive searched for this for other items, such as a laptop, and had no luck finding anywhere. But that was about a year back, so if you find somewhere, please post it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately they can't quote for Irish residents.

    pity that.

I got an e-mail from Mick Mason [mick@gloverhowe.co.uk] back in Nov 2002 offering me a policy. I put it on the long finger and never replied. At the time I had about £5,000 sterling worth of kit and the premium would have been £170 stg.

You could mail him saying you got an email some time ago about a quote and he might go ahead with it. If you like I will cut'n'paste all the info into a post.

I have a thread here somewhere where I asked the same question. At the time I also contacted the Irish Insurance Federation and they told me that they knew of no Irish company offering camera insurance for amateurs [the pros are covered with general business insurance]

It was Mick Mason that replied to my mail.

At the time I e-mailed about 20 different UK companies and GloverHowe were the only ones that covered the Rep of Ireland.

Maybe the http://www.iif.ie/ would tell you if anyone has started covering since I asked them in nov/02
