It will take a bit of getting use to alright!

Here is a link with pictures of before and after the 'nose job'.

This proves looks have absolutly no place in the modern f1 car.

Yeah, it is ugly! Still, it's radical enough to be brilliant and hopefully Montoya can win with it!
Ralf may be in with a chance of the title aswell, if he gets more team support now that Montoya seems to have lost favour and is leaving anyway.

If it does the job, good for it! :D
    If not, hahahahaha! :)

    Hehe.

    I quite like it.

Can't wait to see the new ferrari F2004 unveiled on jan 26th, and then hopefully see it live if they race it in melbourne.....

I hope the new maclaren is as slow as a donkey and I hope david coultard is made retire in the middle of the season. I hate ron dennis.

Loads of people despise McLaren but I'd like to see poor old Dc do well this season, it'll probably be his last!

I too would like to see McLaren do well.

But I want to see Kimi do well.

David has had many chances and never shined.

I really hope to see close racing between Kimi, Montoya and Schumacher.

Also there should be a really good saecond class group with Alonso, the Schumacher, Rubens, Fisi, etc.

Also Sauber have a new deal to use the new 2004 Ferrari engine and gearbox.
So this plus there new wind tunnel means Sauber should be very strong later this season.

Sauber will be good this season, they have gotten consistently better for the last few seasons. The sure do know how to make the most of the ferrari engine. I reckon this year BAR will be the surprise in the second group. They were looking pretty good in Japan with their new engine.

So what McLaren will they be using this season, the one that never was last year or a revamped version of that. I fear that if it is the one they planned for last year that they will be a year behind everyone else.

I really disagree with the below.

The MP4-18 (last years car that was never raced) was VERY radical.

So it had a lot of bugs and problems to fix.

The MP4-19 is a revamped version of that but will all the problems and bugs fixed (hopefully).

Early testing shows the car to be almost equal to the new williams.

McLaren also then not to show the full potential of their car in winter testing.

well i presume they've got some serious data to back up the use of this nose i hope it works well for them nice to see a radical new design.

from what i gather , mclaren are using a new type of clutch system which has been tried before and failed miserably, it is a dual clutch system , which is supposed to cut down any time/ drop in revs when changing gear, they believe it will save them approx 30 seconds over race distance. ...............all we can do now is watch what happens

here's what i understand of the new gear system:

when in first gear, the box already has second gear ready so the change is almost instantanious. when in second, the box has 3rd AND 1st gears ready and the cycle continues. it should help, but could also be a massive hindrance to them if they mess it up

    uuuugggghhhh

    Thats rotten:dunno:

yeah it could be a huge problem for mclaren, if for instance a gear gets shreadded, then thats the end of the race for them, where as in the old system , if one gear got shreadded, the driver could still possible finish the race, it happened to schumacher a few years ago , all he had left was 4th gear , and he finished in the points.

    very 'max power' :)

I like it, it'd be great if all F1 cars didn't look identical apart from the paint job (like in the olden days).

but if it works for williams the other teams will copy the design very shortly so they will all look the same again.
