Any info would be much appreciated

    You should be able to, yes. I have just that kind of set up with my NTL cable feeding a Hauppauge WinTV card. If I hook the STB into my VCR and feed the RF-out from that (and switch the VCR on and tuned to EXT-2), I can view NTL Digital on my PC too!

    Depends on whether or not you are in a Chorus area which requires an STB - if you are, you'll need to feed the PC off the STB. This means that you will be limited to viewing the same channel as is currently being viewed on your STB. If not, there is no problem.

    in the athlone area( chorus now formerly cmi) with one of those jerrod cable boxes for s#y sports etc( but only use it when theres a match on) , normally have the cable going direct into the tv. Do you know from what i just explained if i could watch more than the channel being viewed on stb??

    You can see the card on www.knc1.com, its the first one with the bt878 chip, is there any software you know of like progdvb( for dvb-s) for analogue cable?

    Any info would be much appreciated or any other sites with info,and thanks for replying

    @cableguy,

    do you know if there would be any difference between a card like win tv and a cheap one like the knc one( just check out the site i gave above). theres no digital here so all i need is an analogue card

    Also do you if i will get the premium channels that we pay for on the box such as s** sports and premiership plus

    And thanx for the info

    one more question! what connections do tv cards use, a normal ones like on the back of a tv or f-connectors that are used for dvb-s cards? Will need a few metres of cable so i need to know what to have, thanx in advance

    where did you see the card for 19.90, on ebay.de was it ? there doesn't seem to be a shop on the knc site :dunno:

    well as i dont know if direct links to shops can be posted, so please delete this if it is not allowed( but im sure i saw links on this forum b4)

    www.dvbshop.tv

    i've bought from it before and never had any problems , its a german site but everything is in english, and it also has a forum when u register for the site, the delivery is 19 euros( think thats for a maximum of 2kgs or something), but my brother was getting a few things off the site so it didnt seem like much. If your paying with creditcard u pay through paypal. Maybe ud get something like this cheaper on ebay but i dont think id ever order from that

    @cableguy thanx for the info

    ps: i think this card is only about 50/60 euro with the manual and cd

    The WinTV go is a "cut down" version of earlier cards. No S-Video or IR remote.

    IUV labs recorder works well with Analog TV cards. Also curiously works well as a firewire transfer controller from Digital Camcorder (remember to set codec to MJPEG or HUFFY for analog card and DV transfer "Codec" for Firewire or the results are a horror!)
