Research Request

This is the right forum, so I was wondering if anyone could give me a good idea or good sites that reference the weapons and arms that the Irish forces used during the 1916-21 period. I know we didn't exactly have an army during the uprisings, but details on rifles, MGs etc would be greatly appreciated.
Just need some concrete details to work with for something planned in the near future.

It was pretty much a case of anything they could get their hands on, which mostly meant stolen British stock - Lee-Enfields, Brens, Stens etc.

Uhhhhh, no it wouldn't a ) we were supplied by Germany during ww1 (so what weapons did we use), and b ) this is 20 years before ww2, there were no stens or Brens.

Enfields, not newer Lee Enfields. Most of the rifles would have been Mauser Karbiner 98s (Kar 98).

The National Museum in Kildare Street has an exhibition of contempory weapons.

Hmm might check that out so. If all else fails, artistic license can come into play. Must check the opening times so for that place.
