World's first Ferrari digital camera

Olympus has celebrated its recent sponsorship of the Ferrari Formula 1 team by launching a limited edition digital camera.

"A few hours before the Olympus-backed Scuderia Ferrari took an unprecedented fifth consecutive Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship and its driver Michael Schumacher notched up a record-breaking sixth Drivers’ title, a special presentation took place in the Ferrari garage at the Japanese Grand Prix, on Sunday 12th October.

Olympus President Mr Tsuyoshi Kikukawa presented Scuderia Ferrari boss Jean Todt and drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello with a limited edition Ferrari branded Olympus Mju Digital camera.

“The first year of our association with Scuderia Ferrari has been incredibly successful on race tracks around the world,” said Mr. Kikukawa. “It has also captured the imagination of racing and photography fans. Within minutes of the limited edition Ferrari Olympus Digital Camera going on sale on the Internet, the entire allocation of 1000 cameras available here in our home market had sold out.”

Scuderia Ferrari’s own professional photographers are already well acquainted with Olympus cameras, as they have been using the recently launched Olympus E-System Digital SLR cameras at race tracks around the globe."
