I use Elvive sometimes and Palmolive Shampoo in the Green Bottle.

When I get my hair cut - they use apple or peach shampoo in 5 gallon cans.

Is there any difference in Shampoos?

Are shampoos just branded and are basicly all the same?

i heard/read can't remember an article compare a load of shampoos once and cheap stuff came out well up there, i'm not sure how important it is especially when your male.

i'm sure it important for women who have there hair treated and stuff, afaik hairdressers recommend head and shoulders if you want to strip colour from you hair, i **** you not.

H&S, despite getting hair clean, is icky! :( Makes my scalp itch! The only one I've found so far that doesn't make my head itchy is... Dove.

Dove soap is very creamy!, and I have even resorted to using 'washing up liquid'. Sure makes the hair clean.

I use T-gel all the time myself. Whenever I use any other shampoo I get a load of dandruff, but as soon as I use T-gel again it dissapears.

Great stuff, I swear by it. :)

What's the difference between men and womens shampoos? Well I've got longish hair atm and I'm using the dove range shampoos and conditioner... Girls keep stroking my hair :p

When one of my friends went off up to college, he used to buy shampoo for 20p and it made his hair fall out!!! So maybe steer clear of the cheap stuff ;)

I have tried many shampoos. Some leave my hair feeling very hard.

I bought a bottle of Dunnes "Weatgem" shampoo a couple of months ago & its pretty good.

Then I bought that brand "Clear" for the dandruff.

Somebody then suggested I'd get Revlons Volume Shampoo as it was said to be good.

I have also bottles of Palmolive.

I have enough shampoos to set up a hairdressers.

But I'll try and use some of the above suggestions.

Tesco's value brand... about €2 for a litre bottle and I've had it for months!

Well my shampoo of choice would be johnsons baby shampoo (Yellow liquid) as it doesn't make you cry when it gets in your eyes and it smells soooo good. At the moment however we've run out at home, so I'm currently using my sisters shampoo. Which apparently is really expensive as it's "Special" for people with died hair.

I use Clairol's Herbal Essence Fruit Extracts. It works well and smells nice. Don't look at me like that!

    Herbal Essences.

It cleans your hair and also comes in a transparent bottle so you can see when you need to buy a new one soon.

Whatever shower gel I'm using. Lynx shakes usually.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,924 ✭✭✭Cork

My brother uses Lidl Shampoo & shower gel maintaining that if Germans use it - It must be OK.

I agree a lot of the price of shampoos goes into branding & marketing.

I have used Dunnes Weatgem Shampoo which is fine. Many Hairdressers use Apple Shampoo. I used always use Timotei or Colet at one time.

There is much advertising & marketing associated with them.

Whatever is lying about. For the last few months it's been some Avon tea tree stuff.

Well I usually just use what's nearest to hand, though recently I actually bought shampoo! :o

I bought Wash & Go Anti Dandruff, which isn't bad (and it was only €2).

Take 2 bottles into the shower? Not me...

Yeah, I want some 733t shampoo!

THe difference between men and women's shampoo is that companies decide they will market a shampoo to one gender or another.

Conditioner is good for anybody with long hair as it gets rid of tangles.
