    hey all, coudnt find any mention to this on this board - my phone got nicked over chrimbo and i saw on the news a few weeks ago how the network operator can block it from being used by anyone. has this come into force yet? and if it has do i just need to call em up and give em imei and my personal details? thanks a lot!

    You shouldn't have to ask us this question! You should be straight onto your operator to get the SIM and IMEI blocked immediately (SIM first than IMEI - just in case you mislaid it). Irish operators can block the IMEI now. The longer you wait to do this the longer the thief enjoys the use of your mobile!

    If you are claiming on insurance you will need to report the theft to the Gardai immediately otherwise your claim won't be honoured.

    You might want to dial in and change your voicemail and password if you still have it at the default setting.
