How do you record Sky Digital on a VCR?
Is it a messy procedure or is it relativley simple?

    And

How do you set it up so that you can watch digital on a second tv?
(Yes I'm aware it will be the same channel as being watched on the main tv.)

    Thanks in advance.
    Mak

Funny you should ask this as I just set it up last night on my own Sky digi box. What I did was connect the Sky box to the VCR with a Scart to Scart lead. The Sky box clearly labels the VCR scart socket. Now my VCR has two scart sockets and of course it was the second one that turned out to be the right one. Check your VCR manual if you can, otherwise it's just trial and error.
Then the most important thing to remember is to have the VCR on the correct channel. In my case it is E1 which is just before channel 1. You then just leave the VCR on that channel. You can then select the channel on the Sky box that you want to record. (Don't forget though, if you are recording something while watching it, if you change the channel it will be recording the program you have just switched to).
Also watch out for programs you have selected for Autoview. Believe me it's happened to me in the past.

As for watching TV in another room. Well I haven't tried this yet but you have me thinking.

I too have just sorted the VCR/SKY issue.

I had an older VCR with just one Scart at the back, and couldn't get the thing working. Anyway, I was eventually pushed into by my wife. I bought a new VCR with TWO scarts at the back. I took one scart lead from the Sky box into the back of the VCR. I took another from the VCR into the back of the TV. We also have Chorus (for UTV and C4), so I took the ordinary aerial cable and put that into the vcr as well and another cable going into the aerial jack at the back of the TV. Then I tuned in Sky into P1 of the VCR and Chorus into P2. So now I can watch Chorus while recording Sky and vice versa.

On my video the channel has to set to L1 (line in) to record unlike the other channels that I just set the video channel to the tv channel.
