delayed dispatches on Amazon

    Hi all,
back in November (the 18th to be specific) I ordered a home cinema system from Amazon. I got an email a few weeks ago informing me that delivery would be delayed until Christmas week. However, today I received another one stating: "...Our current estimate is that it will take an additional 4-6 weeks to
    obtain this item for you."
This means that it won't be delivered until the end of January. What am I am wondering is this: If this item goes on sale after Christmas, would I get it at the sale price, or would I still be obliged to pay the original price?

I realise that I could simply cancel it and then re-order it if indeed it does go on sale. Unfortunately there is a risk that it could sell out before I get a chance to reorder.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

    thanks

    KR

I purchased a watch yesterday, and subsequently received an email last night asking for a full copy of my VISA statement.
I spoke to a customer representative this morning and he told me that he could not resolve it as it would only be resolved by an accounts specialist.
When pushed further, he said that the reason it is not being fulfilled is because the Billing address is different to the delivery address. I was not allowed speak to the Accounts Specialist to verify details as they said they would only do so via email, so I now am at the mercy of their reply.
Amazon are the only company who I have ever heard (a) asking for a faxed copy of your VISA statement, and (b) have an issue with different delivery address to the billing address.
I am convinces that the only reason I received this email was so as to the delay the delivery.
    Shocking service.
How do I resolve this as I naturally do not want to scan a copy of my VISA statement.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

was the first thread I saw-honestly, cannot believe the discussion I just had with Amazon-they are insisting on faxing a full VISA statement.
