Creating Communities without the ads

Does anyone know a place where you can creat groups and communities and that sort of thing. I know of groups.msn.com and blogspot but those big ugly ads are not appealing. Also Radio Userland is cool too but id like it free preferably :D. Any ideas?

Yeah that would be cool, but i could use phpBB2 and then id have to pay for hosting and for the domain. How about something like groups.msn.com or blogspot only no ads

groups.yahoo.com are like MSN only better. They have a few ads, but not very many.
