you missed it, it's been and gone already.

www.firststaff.ie and one other agency i don't remember were doing the majority of the hiring.

it's already got to the second stage of interviews afaik.

picked 90 out of 120 and will be weedling them down to 60 i think during second faze.

    Yeha talk about unprofessional!
I can't believe ebay went for a recruitment agency, it's odd because paypal is their company and they recruited directly...

And I never saw any ad's in the papers or on recruitment sites for the jobs. I was told they weren't starting to recruit till Jan for ebay....

eBay is one of the worst places to work for.

    Some examples.

    My favorite...
It has come to my attention that several employees are talking at their desks during scheduled work hours. I must convey the importance of NOT talking at your desk, or to your desk partner. Talking greatly decreases work productivity, and company morale.

If you need to talk to someone, please schedule a meeting room where you can talk, or use the break rooms. If you are caught talking at your desk, you will be escorted into a meeting room and questioned as to why you are talking, and if it is relevant to your job. If not, you may be subjected to disciplinary actions.

We want you to work hard at eBay, and enjoy your work. Please contact management if you have any questions.

It's fashionable for companies to hire staff through an agency. The victi- sorry, worker, works for the agency, and so can be disposed of when not wanted.

If they really think this is an ace worker, they may hire him or her directly after three or six months.

I don't know if i'd believe all I read on internalmemos.com. Also that's ebay in America, dunno if the UK would be as bad. And I definitely wouldn't be going for a phone/email monkey job in there!
