I've thinking about upgrading for a while now and this particular phone has got every feature (except mp3 player which is an attachment, as is the radio) according to the Voda fone comparison. Has anyone heard anything about this model or better yet does any1 have one. In particular does the alarm clock work even if the phone is turned off like a Nokia.
The guys at Carphone warehouse in Liffey Valley say its selling very well and it costs only E99 with a Voda contract

I prefer Motos to Nokias cos the Nokia security is so weak and cos Motos have the vibra feature where the fone vibrates first for a few rings, and then vibrates and rings simulataneously which is handy- I cud never get my 5510 or 5110 to do this.

    Any Headsup would be welcome

€99 is a great price for it, depending on what sort of a tariff you have to go on, only problem is that its with Vodafone.

It seems a very good phone from what Ive seen of it.
The pool memory in it is 5mb, larger than most phones(SE T610 2-2.5mb, 7250i 4mb, Siemens MC60 1mb i think, Sagem MyX6 2.3mb). Pool memory is used for photo's, ringtones, games, MMS, themes etc

Google it and see if you can get some user reviews.

As for the alarm clock feature - go to Motorolas website and email their Support/Sales, they should be able to confirm this for you.

and only E39 after trade in-but it doesn't matter as they are not available anymore due to supply problems. Ive heard that from CPW and Voda shops so I'll be looking for another model.

BTW the alarm only works when the phone is switched on according to the motorola website -but there were reviewers saying the opposite when I googled it so some reviews can be BS!

Do a search on the V300 and you will find more information. The V525 is the V300 with a quad band feature.

yeah you are right Dubwireless - The 525 is just the 500 with all the Voda logo & software according to all the reviews I have seen.

I spose it would cost a load as a credit fone, if its available as credit. It looks totally cool with great specs! Is it available as a pay as you go?

Been thinking about getting one of them myself. They seem to have a lot of features. Does anyone know if you can get it from O2 as a pay monthly phone? They seem to be difficult to get.

in the winter edition of O2's magazine they listed the Motorola V600 - you might want to ask them about that model?

    I bought a v525 on wednesday...its the v500 on O2 as far as i know...

It is a really solid phone. The call quality is excellent the picture quality is excellent and the storage is pretty massive considering each pic is only about 5kb anyway.

The camera goes up to 640x480 res which is like a webcam really. I like this phone a lot but the bluetooth wont do more than recognise other phones leading me to wonder if its an audio only bluetooth...(its bluetooth 1.1(???)) The GPRS and stuff is really cool because i got this 28kb message and it took like 30 secs to download it...which is faster than my crappy modem connection at home (woe is me)

Get this phone if you have a chance. i used someone else's upgrade and i got it for 119 europeans.

The only faults i have are:
    1) The manual is utterly useless...not that i really need it but it is all in plain text so its hard to understand.
    2) I had to switch to vodafone which has the worst customer service known to man and the highest prices for calls and texts and such...
    3) You cant send the pics already on the phone which is a serious disadvantage because there is a nice one of some bird with a tattoo on her ass
