On some channels the picture keeps breaking up, along with the sound every few seconds. Some channels are fine - not a problem, others have like a second pause every 20 seconds or whenever (very annoying) while others are just unwatchable at this stage.

I had this very same problem this time last year too - I thought it was a problem with the alligment of the dish - but I was instructed that it was a problem with my decoder - but last year it only got bad etc when it rained for example, but not its always bad.

Last year, I got the guy to change the LNB for 40 euros and that solved all the problems...untill now.... so I'm assuming its the LNB this time round too.

HI, I'm afraid if he charged you 40 euros he may have given you a second hand one. It may well be the tuner thats causing the problems or a cable fault perhaps. Only true way to tell is to get an engineer with a spectrum analyser

Know where I can get an engineer with such a device?

Could also be wind / rain - but you'd have noticed that.
Could also be water in the cable if the connection to the LNB wasn't sealed properly - shouldn't a spectrum analyser pick up that ??

Send the owner of the site an email. He may or may not be able to help you.

To be quiet honest though, If you are still getting picture breakup the easy thing to do is connect the box up to someone else's system (as pointed out by greenman)and if its still happening then you can be sure thet the fault lies with your receiver and not your LNB.

I see no reference to satalite repairs or engineers.... but I admit I havn't looked at the site too much, which isn't a bad thing :)
