    The post about the free email client made me think of posting this link.

    Its a collection of open source products that have been ported to windows. Now I don't have to pirate all my software :D

    Also there are lots of old apps out that are freebies as advertising for the main product.
    eg: powerarchiver 6.1 was free (newer versions aren't)
    www.pdf995.com - PDF writer (ad ware)

    Not to mention www.knoppix.net - bootable linux cd - you don't need to do anyting to your HDD to use it and there are about 3GB of apps and utils stuffed on it.

    Its also worth taking a look at
    http://www.damnsmalllinux.org - a very basic version of Knoppix
    &
    http://www.geexbox.org - a VERY COOL bootable media player, plays almost anything

    Right I'm going very off topic..time to stop :p
