Does anyone here work in the IFSC in Dublin, a m8 of mine is looking at a couple of IT jobs there with an agency and woz wondering if its a cool place to work or just full of 'suits' who look down their noses on IT engineers like him?

He's looked at the website but it is obviously biased, any feedback would be appreciated!

    cheers,

Worked here and went to college. Its a nice place. No real snobbery from what I've seen... more then enough bars to cover office social gatherings :p

But it is rather expensive for lunch and that sorta thing

    hey

Havent worked their, but I have been living in one of the apartments their
for the last few months down beside the Clarion Hotel.

I found the whole place great, really nice people around the area
pubs are great for a laugh and loads of shops and restaurants , I mean they
even built an Indoor golfing range under me !!! not to mention the whole
mobile cinema that pops up their every now and again .

Ive meet alot of the people who work around the area the suits per say
and alot of them a very much a young crowd and are always up for a laugh.

Imo id definatly be happy to work their. Infact what exactly are the IT jobs going their atm ;)

i work in a solicitors firm there.

there is a level of snobbery in my workplace, but thats only from a small group of the solicitors, and when they look down their noses, its not biased to i.t :)

if you want to work in a place like that you have to know to be polite to these people no matter how much they piss you off cause they usually tend to be partners. apart from that most of them are actually decent human beings, we all go to pub and get pished on friday so its all good :)

where is this guy thinkin of workin out of curiosity?

I think its the AIB or one of the other banks...

If its AIB then he should be fine, I'm working for AIB on Tara St and it's part of the AIB in the IFSC (Capital Markets) - they just moved out because they needed more space and I've yet to come across any sort of snobbery or looking down noses type shenanigans... the main canteen for us is over in the IFSC building and anytime I've been there it seems to have the same relatively laid back attitude as where I am...
