frenchies - i'd give a 5 pack of easy singles, small bottle of wine and a white flag. Just to let them know history never forgets.

make up a mix tape/cd of good traditional irish music for her, christy moore, pogues, etc etc, I did that for a yank chick I knew once and she loved it,

Chances are her great-granny's fifth cousin once-removed's husband wasn't Irish though..

Baileys is always pop. with French.
Traditional to give a lump of turf.
real wool crochet hats also are pop.- sounds corny but if I can find that pic. I'll post it.

And now for something completly different:

    Whats the price cap?
You know nothing else about the girl? Her age, what she does etc?
Is her being French so very different?
Have you considered asking her boyfriend what she likes, would appricate?

Perfume is always good, if you know what type they wear.

He only has €5 Havelock and I don't think she would appreciate cheap pound shop perfune :D

Do you know anything about her at all???

Would she like something funny or is she into all that 'irish' stuff??? Surely you know something about her???

I think I'm a very bad man. I was walking home earlier and saw this utterly beautiful girl approaching me. I sidestepped to get out of her way, but she stopped and asked in her sexy French accent for directions to some place. I was rather dumbfounded that she was talking to me. So I started to give her directions but I hadn’t a clue where the place was. I honestly couldn’t help it. True story.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 990 ✭✭✭lili

    and your link doesn't work.
    what is it about please?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 489 ✭✭Faust

Paddy is a slang term for an irish person. And its not a real link it's a joke as this is boards.ie and the french equivalent would be boards.fr . Thanks for making me disassemble my joke and in effect murder it!!! :'(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 990 ✭✭✭lili

    i would have guessed it:)
my fault, i'm so nervous that i didn't think a lot about the link.

by the way, the lolita lempicka perfum is not a good idea, i did never pay attention at the price because it was a gift someone made to me. but now i know the price and it's quite expensive, 75 euros!!

The word you were looking for was cadeau. Obviously, your joke would have been hilarious had you gotten that right.

But my french dictionary says gift!? WHy am i alive!???
    *dies*

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 990 ✭✭✭lili

"don" is from the verbe "donner" which means to give. you could say it, you would be understood, but the exact word for "gift" is "cadeau" or "présent".
    "cadeau" is the most used.

    One-way tickets home hopefully.

    France-1

Whatever you give her, pay special attention to how it is wrapped. The presentation is as important as the gift to the French.

    Eh?

Ireland's neutrality during WW2 wasn't all that impressive.

This thread is a bit sad - she's from France, not Mars!
