Whats the final story with the Pool Competition?

According to the thread in Events there are 2 Christmas parties on thursday, so its doubtful that there would be too many tables free for the general public to turn up and play.

I'd still go on thursday and we could have a mini-tournamet with whoever turns up.

Or else postpone til next week, or til after Christmas.

Well the situation is that there are 8 out of the 12 tables booked for christmas parties already and they wont let us book any more, though in my pitiful defence the last time i talked to them they said that it would be fine.

But i think we should just head down anyway and see if we can get any tables. If it comes to it we can play a one frame each knockout between whoever is there if we can get a table. Failing that we can just have a few freindly games and a few pints.

Final word from the master of cockups: I'll be there anyway from 7:30 to have a few games with whoever turns up.

And we can either rearrange the competition for next week or after christmas depending if people can make it for next week.

It was to be booked but was left a little late.

Bit of social pool/mini-competition would be the best bet tomorrow - that or kick Dakeyrus skinny ass.

At this stage looking at 1st/2nd week in January realistically for a 32 player competition.

Grand, I'm heading up there tonight with flatmates for a laugh but I might go again tomorrow night if people are up for it or should we leave it to Saturday?

Either way, you should make an announcement to let people know whats happening so that people dont turn up expecting the competition and be dissappointed.

Well, i've been waiting to see what people want to do, either leave it untill a later date or go ahead with a small comp there anyway or in a different venue.

So, i'm going to be there tomorrow night anyway from about 7 onwards, table availability and numbers permitting hopefully we can have some form of pool knockout. It'll just have to be a turn up and hope for the best outcome im afraid, and unfortunately not the full competition that was intended though.

With 8 of the twelve tables gone the palace is likely to be awful awful packed indeed.

Does anyone want to just bail on down to fireworks and have chats, a couple of pints and some pool. Their tables are awful nice and they should be under less pressure than the palace tables I reckon.

Forget about the competition and just have a bit of a meet up and some drunken pool? Sounds like fun to me!

Myself and DapperGent are going to Fireworks this evening for some pool and pints.
The tables are much better than in the Palace, but there is only 4 of them unfortunately.
Anyone interested in coming along? We could have our own mini-tournament or something... should be there from 6ish anyway

Well i shall be up in the palace this evening but i'll try and get over to fireworks a bit later depending on the general business of the palace. I said i'd meet a few people in the palace so if i can get them over to fireworks i shall as well. As long as i get to play some pool somewhere and have a few beverages tonight i'll not be too unhappy.
