I dunno if anyone else has heard about this but Jimmy McGee has published a video which gathers together 25 greatest sporting moments by Irish sportmen and women. One of the "achievments" is that drug taking evidence tampering swimmer Smith-de Bruin winning 4 medals at Atlanta...

This interview with her father is worth listening to-

Surprised that McGee has this blind-spot.

    Mike.

at the time it was viewed as a fantastic achievement, and whilst her situation later coloured any memory of it, she wasn't found positive at the time.

    she is/was guilty as sin..

Im no scientist - but this my understanding of it..

What she was doing was taking arse loads of drugs out of competition to build herself up and up and up. When she was caught in an out of competion test she had a massive amout of drugs in her system.

and then going clean for a weeks before competitions so she would pass the test, but she would still have the mussle mass etc etc

I remember dunphy asking such questions on how she went from a no one on the international stage to best in the world by a street in a short time. Remember the american swimmer at the olympics, Janet Evans saying the same stuff.

We all jumped on both of their backs..

Looking back they were both right. You just dont do that in international sport, go from no one to amazing..

She was not a "greatest sporting moment" it was one of the biggest sporting moments of shame
