    I have just moved here for sunny Athlone and you won't believe the calculation I found out for beer alone.

    In Athlone avge price for a pint 3.60 Euro
    In London avge price for a pint 2.40 Sterling ( that is say approx 3.40 Euro )

    So the wages here are at least double those in Ireland.

    Therefore the relative cost of a pint would be 7.20 Euro.


    Now that's what I call a ripoff !!!!!!!!!

    And we havn't even discussed Dublin prices.

    Thats why I left !!!

    The average wage in London is no way near double the average in Ireland, I think if you further investigate this you will find this out. This is not to say your personal salary has doubled.
