P4 willamette/northwood question

A quick question - is there a Intel Pentium4 1.7 processor with the northwood core? Popped a p4 1.7 into an abit v17 board tonight and the thing wont work. Powers on but no POST or vidoe out to the monitor All the components seem to be fine but the board says it supports northwood. Think the processor might be willamette.…

P4 1.7M (mobile) has a northwood core, dunno about desktop versions

Your only solution will be to try a different cpu or motherboard, and so eliminate one of them from your enquiries.
