I'm about to order and just want to check what peoples experience with the company are. Did your order come in 3-5 days like suggested?

Never ordered with them, but order through www.ny-camera.com they are much cheaper.

ny-camera are generally cheaper, but cam-ireland are close and sometimes have actually been cheaper (better to check).
In this case, it's because ny-camera are out of stock, whereas cam-ireland have promised me delivery in 5 working days (and are almost the same price).

What camera are they(www.ny-camera.net) out of stock of do you mind me asking?

I sent them an email yesterday to check the stock of 4 cameras im interested in... though Ive since narowed my choice down to two camera's - The Minolta Dimage F200 or the Kodak DX4530.

The 300D. I emailed ny-camera and let them know that my decision to buy from them would be based on whether I could have the camera by December 20th (this was at the start of the month). The guy was thankfully honest, and said they were currently out of stock, had backorders, and there was little chance I'd get it before the 20th or even this year.

camireland.com (who I've always been aware of) were selling the same model for 60euro more (1090 compared to 1150). I emailed them a stock query and they sent a speedy reply back saying the model was in stock and would take 3-5 days to deliver. They even went to the trouble of letting me know if I was choosing a slightly different product (the model without the lens), it was out of stock but would be back in 48 hours.

Guess which one I went for.

They both use the same shopping-cart site and are German based.

    I noticed that too.

In your case however, €60 extra when the item is over €1000 may not be much extra, The cameras I am interested in are €272 and €279 on NY-Camera and €354 and €359 on Camireland... so, €82 and €80 more expensive.

€80 extra when spending ~€300 is a fair chunk unfortunately!

I emailed NY-Camera on friday afternoon, so ill await their reply on Monday hopefully. Ive not managed to find those cameras at that price anywhere else, so fingers crossed.... How long did they take to reply to you?

Though Im almost decided on the Minolta Dimage F200, seems its only downside is battery life, which is resolved by simply using 2000mah NIMH rechargeables, which can be gotten for ~€10 on Ebay UK, and that its a little noisier than some other cameras. Its also much smaller than most cameras with similar spec/price.

ny-camera are definitely better for prices - in general.
It's still better to check though, as about 6 months ago the Canon EOS 10D (a very big seller, and quite expensive) was cheaper on camireland.

I agree when prices are low. It's probably best to stick to ny-camera in your case.

ny-camera replies varied. The quickest was the next day, whereas one took 3 or 4 days. I only emailed camireland once, and got a reply first thing the next morning (though that could change obviously).

If you're still having troubles deciding, I definitely recommend htto://www.dpreview.com
Its reviews are quite highly regarded.

Way ahead of you, its mostly based on the stuff on dpreview.com that ive made my decision!

They have a cool Compare feature where you can list both cameras features side by side so as to give a direct comparison of every aspect of the camera.

I also read its review and some readers reviews too - thats where I picked up about the F200 needing the 2000mah batteries and that its a little noisy.

I bought my camera from www.nomatica.com
They are cheaper than camireland.com and a bit more expensive than ny-camera but they do offer free shipping with fedex for rep of Ireland at the moment (they are based in france).

    definitly worth a look.

Better than CamIreland for price, but still €350 shipped for the camera I want, as opposed to €290 on NY-Camera, but they still havent replied to my email that I send on Friday at about lunchtime...

Camireland delivered in 4 days like promised, and everything went without a hitch. Was so pleased that I thought I'd just post this as a recommendation for them.
