Aston Villa have parted company with Croatian striker Bosko Balaban.

Balaban, who cost Villa £5.8m when he signed on a five-year deal from Dynamo Zagreb in August 2001, still had two-and-a-half years of his contract left to run.

Balaban rarely played for Villa and did not start one Premiership match, earned a reported £15,000 a week. :p:p:p

Winston Bogarde at Chelsea, 40 grand a week, played nine games in three years, has another two years to go, quite happy to sit on his hole collecting the cash it seems :)

Kanu at Arsenal is another one the manager wants shot of but can't get any takers because of his excessive wages. He,s played a bit more this season becaus of suspensions/ injuries but did feck all last year to earn his big money. Nice work if you can get it .

He is useless hes about 5 choice striker, but bobby wont let him go for some reason. Newcastle have a history of buying players on big money and rarely playing them ( Cort, Ferguson, Gavilan, Basseadas (sp?)) still I suppose Cort never really got a run in the team with his injury problems.
