does you invoice say 599? if so they can swivel, you have receipt of the goods, you have an invoice for the amount and you have paid the balance, they are only chancers, however if the invoice doesnt say 599....

the nice people at the consumers association should be you first port of call

You don't have to pay the new price, you entered that contract on the understanding that the item was 599 euro.

as Big Al said that's complete BS.
If you have an invoice saying that you have paid 100 and have 499 left to pay then that is all you have to pay. Full stop.
Contact ODCA to confirm you are within your rights.

well he is not too likly to hand the item over if i give him the origional amount.

as i see it, i can do the following:

    1.get my 100euro back

    or

2.hire a solicitor (will cost far more than its worth)

    or

3.pay price he is asking and then go to the small claims court

looks like i'll be going for 1.

    i'm really pissed off

    any other pieces of advice???

Small claims is real easy. Go on there and print off the info. Then take it to the shop, tell 'em you're gonna go with that unless they agree to their previous price, and see what they say.

Don't take no sh!t, you're in the right.

It arrived for delivery today? Do you have the gear or does he?

Threaten him with both ODCA and a solicitor over the phone if he doesn't honour the invoice you have. If that don't shift him then he's probly got an awful lot of balls.

Get a mod to move this to Rip Off Ireland as the lads over there know plenty.

I'd contact the Office of the Director of Consumer Affairs [01 - 4025555] regarding your rights .... then have a nice chat in the shop owners ear about taking action through the ODCA & see how that changes matters!!

    Keep us updated on progress!

    `

Plan C is to 'take' it at the higher price and to sue the shop for the €170 difference + your costs in the Small Claims Court

    ferdi,

Trojan is spot on. You have a written contract with the store. They have a legal duty to fulfil that contract. For a small fee of I believe €8.00 the Clerk of the Small Claims Court will write to the store giving them a short period of time to comply, or face a judge!, most stores do not argue, once they have received a letter from the Clerk of the Court.

Or, have a look at; www.oasis.gov.ie

Imho, you have them by the short and curlies, stand up for your rights!.

    P.:ninja:
