ntl:digital upgrade to v5.37

I have a Pace Di-300-N, and have just received the 5.37 [01.19-20] upgrade with a notification that I should be able to get teletext subtitles on some channels (which was a big feature of 5.36, IIRC, which I never got).

However, I had noticed that I'd already got teletext subtitles (and ntl:digital subtitles too, as it happens) on at least the BBCs and TV3. Anyone know what 5.37 brings? It doesn't fix the cropping (I never get to see the 4 of the TG4 logo for example) anyway.

Maybe there is more support for teletext subtitles, or more channels or something, who knows. It did wreck my viewing of Cheers though!!

My box is still 5.36 I think (August 2003)...just checked yep 5.36 and I've just checked the subtitles and they are finally showing (in the summer I was checking for them but nothing to be seen).

is it conventional subtitles (e.g. via your tv teletext buttons, same as normal tv) or something you'd press on your cable remote?

tried it after the message about the upgrade came up a month or so back, but no joy.

anyone have a list of the channels that are supposed to work?

btw. noticed since the upgrade the occasional double listings of programs* isn't as bad as it was. still not fixed though.

    * the thing in the epg where occasionally you'd get each program listed twice which hade it really hard to see what was on later. instead of happening all the time now it only seems to happen if you move over to highlight a program to view details or set a reminder for it.

btw, it's still really crap compared to sky. someone really should do a re-write of the whole thign to make it better. they seem to have added more info to most of the info sections of programs now though such as year, director and cast, which helps when you are looking at movies etc.

as the politicians say 'lots done, a lot more to do'.

Yeah, it's normal teletext by pressing the teletext button on your TV remote.

BTW it only works on 8 channels, RTE One, Network Two, TV3, TG4, BBC One, BBC Two, UTV & Channel 4.

And everyone should be able to get digital subtitles on BBC ONE, BBC TWO, ITV1, and Channel 4 now. Press Menu then move the cursor to "Subtitles" (second last option), then press left.
