I'm cheking out flights from Heathrow to New York and I would preferably like to fly with trough Virgin Atlantic. I checked out their site and the total price came to €570. Has anyone any cheaper places I could check for this flight?

I doubt you will get cheaper than the airline website(but maybe I am wrong). Check out the BA website I saw an ad in the indo a couple of months back advertising cheap flights to NYC from Heathrow. I think the flights were €370 return and I presume that included a flight to Heathrow from Dublin but again I am unsure about that. Good luck hunting.

Just checked on e-bookers and air canada has a flight from heathrow to Newark via Montreal, out 16/12/03 return 23/12/03 for 441 EUROS OR 309 STG Including Taxes.

Newark is easier to get to than JFK in my experience

Yeah it really pays to search hard. I got Tampa Florida via New York for just a shade over €500.

It might be worth your while contacting a rep on ebookers.com via email and asking for a flight with accomadation if you haven't sorted somewhere to stay.

They have some very cheap flights which they are only contracted to sell with accomadation.
The accomadation can be a cheap one star, 3 star or five if you want, but if you are going to have to pay for accomadation anyway , you will save a lot of money on both by asking for it with them including the flight.

If you have done a web booking already for a hotel (assuming you are not staying with friends/relatives ) then it can usually be cancelled up to 24 hrs before hand if you find this method cheaper.

Bear in mind also that airlines charge the earth sometimes for flights booked within ten days of travel and that the place you will notice this obviously is on their website.
