Out of the list, I chose Channel Four. It's watched quite a bit. A close second would be any of the BBC channels, as I like some of their programmes like Jonathon Ross on fridays, They Think It's All Over, QoS, Nevermind the Buzzcocks, etc.

Other than that it's usually channel hopping, mainly through the music channels (I hope VH2 is going to be good)

BBC 2 as its the least likely to insult my intelligence (or whats left of it)

    Mike.

    Hallmark Channel.
Good shows...Law and Order (all 3 versions), JAG, Crossing Jordan, JAG, The Agency, Homicide, etc etc.

But most importantly they treat series with respect. When they start showing a series they show it all in consecutive nights for a few weeks and always at the same time.

Not like RTE which start something, move it around three or four times, change days, times and eventually bump it to after midnight to show some poxy show about farmers or something.

i said Channel 4, there always seem to be interesting stuff being shown

Don't most of channel 4 shows come from Independent Producers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,264 ✭✭✭JBoyle4eva

Itwouuld be atie between Net2/BBC(1+2)/C4! Altough, I much rather watch Paramount comedy + MTV on SKy:cool:

But, I don't see why most people bother with RTE1, When watching Ann doyle + Gay Byrne making noises is more entertaining than that

All you need is your daily dose of the Simpsons on Sky 1. Turn the rest of the crap off. :)

All of them do, they are not allowed to make their own programmes as part of their licence. You wouldn't know it by their current output but Channel 4 is a public service broadcaster, they were set up to cater for minority interests of all kinds.

I'll second that, lots of great shows that would not get a proper airing on many of the other channels.

I think BBC 2 has gone down hill. Too many repeats of old shows. I think its because the other BBC channels have eaten into its Budget, at least I hope that it is the reason.

I think N2 and C4 have also gone down hill for similar reason.

They used to be my 3 fav channels but now I don't know. I just don't know.:(

at the moment my favourite channel is FTN but purely because they are showing the best comedy show ever at the moment Kath & Kim.

AFter that it would be TG4, BBC2 and Paramount.

ah yes, stargate, definitly the best sci-fi on tv at the mo, there should be a stargate forum in the sci-fi/fantasy section imo:)

BBC 1 definitely. It's not that I watch a lot of its programmes, but I can recognise that most of its programmes are to a very high standard.

BBC1 for not interupting films with ads.

I haven't noticed them doing that lately, but they don't seem to start any films at 9pm anymore.

It is really annoying when they do that though, ITV & Network 2 do it a lot.

nothing worse than that. ad breaks are bad enough but a 20 - 40 minute break for the news is only taking the piss. and ITV and Network 2 also give you ads as a bonus. one reason why DVD's are great

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,997 ✭✭✭The_Bullman

    Sky One

reasons: The Simpsons and sci fi.

I can't remember a day that either of these aren't on some time on sky. With the new series of Star gate still running, it's one of my more watched channels

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,105 ✭✭✭Tyrrial

I hate sky one! it's ok to a sertain point. but then it starts going so far down him it's below sea level

Sky 1 is good for the never ending supply of The Simpsons other than that though it's an utterly atrocious station and really is painful to watch.

Though in fairness they did show Wayne's World 2 the other day. Thats gotta count for something
