Was in Tesco, Clearwater, and the petrol station is open.

Unleaded at 79.4c / litre. Previously, cheapest in area is Esso and Shell at 84.6 / litre.

Also, if you spend €40 on groceries, you get a 5c / litre discount.

Anybody know if they have plans for other stations ??? Nothing on the Tesco.ie website.

I think they have one planned for the new Clare Hall store, but other than that i dont know.
I assume they do, they just like to do everything with Finglas first cos its one of the "flagship" stores.

    Competition !!!!!

Noticed today that the Esso is now down from 84.6 to 79.6 !!! Shell is down from 84.6 to 79.4 !!!

I went to the Tesco to fill up after Charlie McGreedy wiped out the price drop in one fell swoop with a 5c /l increase. Had to queue for 15 minutes, but was happy to do so. I think the onus is on the consumer to support the newcomer, and not to drift back to the bastards who have been ripping us off for years, even if they match the new price.

All the signage was quoting 79.4c /l, but the price at the pump was 79.3 !!!! They're still cheaper. Nice one.

You are but for a town with more than ten thousand people in it, it only has four petrol stations.
Theres no competition, and were it not for the safeway garage who have always been ignoring the other three you would be paying closer to 90 cent a litre.
The statoil there was the first garage I have seen charging a Euro a litre a few months back for diesel-disgracefull rip off.
But then Arklow people must be a happy people, they don't complain so deserve what they get.

    Business idea anyone??

78.5c/litre at the Esso on Sarsfield Rd. on the way to Ballyfermot.

Another 5c/litre off if you get a carwash.
