The Fine Gael one day conference was on Saturday last and the general message from the media is that it was a good display by Fine Gael and that Enda Kenny spoke well. There are people who have already written off FG for ever getting back into government. This might be the begining of an alternative government. The focus of the day was on economic competitiveness, the rip-off culture in ireland and the reform of the health services. It sounds like it wasn't just boring political point scoring speeches either. Speakers for and against benchmarking, the hanly report were there and the debates were wide ranging. Better than the sanitised back-patting from the Fianna Fail conference a few weeks ago.
    Fine Gael back?
