    the boards on p45.net had a hack that did that - eat a huge amount of server resources until the boards keeled over and died...

    it's a stupid hack in all fairness
    I use it on one of my boards but only in the private forums where there is a limited number of users and where it is handy to know who is on-line and when.

    but do these boards need more hacks? or is whitelancer just trying to show off something :-)

    I agree with LK. Anyway you can tell if they are online as they answer your post, heck half the people here use the boards as thier own personal email address. smile.gif
