    Looking for a hotel to stay in in Rome..preferably near tourist attractions/centre.
    Has anyone been before? any suggestions?

    it depends on how much you have to spend.

    I was there a couple of weeks ago for a weekend, stayed in a 3 star hotel right in the city center on via del corsa. The hotel was called Hotel Regno. Within 10 - 15 minutes of all the sights.

    Cost €155 per night. Hotels in Rome city center are not cheap! (then again the company were paying!) All 4 start are €200+ per night.

    Then again I was there a year ago (paying myself this time!) and staying in a 1 star hotel/hostel for €20 per night.

    If you can get a hotel further out of the city on the metro line you would be better off. Try around the Termini Train station or even further out.

    Stayed in a 4 star on the thursday night there near the airport and it was €85 per night!, the train in to Termini from the airport is $8.80.

    I remember looking up hotels in Rome recently and this one is definitely the one I want to stay at when there.
