Dublin Bus - dodgy advertising?

Maybe I'm missing something but Dublin bus is claiming in its radio ads that a 1 day rambler ticket is cheaper than 1 hour's city centre parking. They don't mention the price in the ad but according to their website its 5 Euros.

I've never paid that much for one hour's parking in Dublin. Has anyone else?

Since the whole point of the ad is to encourage people to take the bus rather than car I think this is a bit cheeky.

I am not sure about the ad you mention, but I think they might mean the cost of being clamped in Dublin - at least I am sure they are running a poster campaign along the lines of 'don't get clamped, take the bus'. It has a a slogan along the lines of 'we won't clamp your style'.

I haven't heard the ad, but you can buy a book of five one day tickets for €15 (=€3/day), this is proabably what the ad refers to. Other rambler tickets work out at about €2.30 - €2.60 a day AFAIK.
