    It is so great!
The movie isn't really up to the standard of the series...it's a prequel.

Season 1 (which i have) is available on R2 dvd.

I've heard great things about it too, I'd love to start watching it, but only if it was from the start, nothing worse than jumping into a series of anything half way through. I might get the series somewhere if I can.

There's a Spanish 6 disc DVD set with all 28 or so episodes always available on ebay (never been able to find the original source though). It's only video quality but does the job as it looks like they'll never get it togehter to give the second series a proper DVD release. Possibly the greatest TV show ever made.

One of the all time great shows. Set the groundwork for a lot of bit-fcuked-up shows that followed (e.g.: The X-Files). It's a very odd show set in the small isolated mountain town of Twin Peaks. An FBI agent - Agent Cooper - is called in to solve the murder of a popular high school student, Laura Palmer. But Twin Peaks turns out to be a town populated by some very very odd people. Not red neck Texas-chainsaw massacre types though. FAR odder. It also features BOB - the scariest character EVER in any TV show or movie. Anyone who remembers BOB will recall how he could scare the complete sh1t out of you. I start getting shivers thinking about him.

Oh and there was only one spin-off movie (not a couple) - Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, which chronicles the last days of Laura Palmer. However, you'd be wise to watch the two TV seasons first as the movie spoils what follows next (particularly who murdered Laura Palmer!).

Oh and it had the freakiest end to any show ever. Smash. Mirror. EEK!

Twin Peaks is superb. Even if you know who the killer is the show is still must-see.

Avoid the Spanish DVD release. I was tempted to buy it while browsing around Madrid recently but I'm glad I didn't. Apparently the quality is atrocious and the extras are non-existent. While the DVD release here has only the first season (pilot plus seven episodes), it's far superior.

Cost me a rather high 50 euro, but hey, this is Twin Peaks we're talking about here. The picture has been digitally remastered, the sound has been remixed in Dolby 5.1, every episode has a commentary track and their is a full disc of extras. The best of the features is a set of interviews with the cast where they tell a story (mostly) unrelated to the show.

First time watchers might be disappointed because the season ends with a whole raft of cliffhangers but at least it'll whet your appetite for season two, which is bound to be released eventually.

Twin Peaks - best show ever
the region 2 DVD is superb - I took a week off work when it was released last November only to discover that none of the shops in Dublin had heard about it/bothered to get it in.
I ended up driving up to HMV Belfast to get it.

I see HMV Grafton deigned to get it in a couple of months ago - wow
